A better mousetrap

Duplicate records are like household pests:

If you find one, there are probably many more you haven't seen. Yet.

The problem is: finding and removing them is usually hard.

Try this in CiviCRM:

Install the Duplicate Monitor extension.
Then, add its "Dedupe Monitor Alert" dashlet to your CiviCRM Home dashboard.

While you're not even looking, this extension will use your existing duplicate-matching rules to quietly scan your entire database for duplicates, and alert you of any it finds, through that dashlet.

You can also configure it further, but don't worry about that right now.

Just install it and let it work.

That alone will be a big step forward in clearing out those pests.
