The grind, and the win.
Some days you get a lot done
and still feel strangely unmoved.
Emails sent.
Meetings held.
Reports delivered.
That’s maintenance.
It’s a grind, but it has to happen.
Real satisfaction comes from other things, which often take time to show up:
Fewer surprises,
clearer expectations,
or people knowing what to do next without asking.
That's progress.
It has to happen too, eventually, and it’s feels like winning.
Both matter. But they’re not the same thing.
If today felt busy but unsatisfying, you were probably doing maintenance, not progress.
That’s okay. Maintenance keeps things from falling apart.
Just don’t confuse it with progress.
All the best,
A.
